Price Increase By FedEx – Effective in November

FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL will implement about a 7% general rate increases effective on Nov. 1, 2010. The rate adjustment affects LTL (less-than-truckload) shipments, both interstate and intrastate shipments.

FedEx Freight’s and FedEx National’s fuel surcharge will remain the same. FedEx does plan to increase shipping rates for FedEx Express by a net average of 3.9% for U.S. domestic and U.S. export services effective January 3, 2011.

FedEx will be changing the fuel price threshold in which the fuel surcharge starts, reducing the fuel surcharge by 2%.

In addition, FedEx Express and FedEx Ground will implement a change to the dimensional weight charge calculation.
